The keto diet has become quite popular the last few years and many people create their own keto diet menu. If you are new to the keto diet it sometimes can be hard to create your own keto diet menu so will give you some basic ideas and tips to create your own keto menu.

The keto diet is focusing on having fat as your main energy source and reduce your intake of carbohydrates to a very low amount. A good guideline is ~80% of your energy from fat, 15% from protein and 5% from carbohydrates. When your body is not getting enough carbohydrates it will change to use fat as the energy source instead, this state in the body is called ketosis. This state makes the body more efficient in burning fat.

Maximum 20 grams per day but less is actually better. Remember, you should never go hungry on a keto diet. Make sure you eat enough food. There is no need to starve yourself, that will only give you worse results than if you eat proper.
